Matthew Gregory
Osteopath
Hi, I’m Matthew, an Osteopath and Director at Align Healthcare Clinic.
My interest in Osteopathy began after an accident at school when I was ten years old. Despite scans showing everything was “fine,” I still didn’t feel right. Seeing an Osteopath helped me understand how the body works as a whole, how muscles, joints and movement all influence one another, and that way of thinking stayed with me.
In practice, I focus on listening first and adapting treatment to the person in front of me. No two people move, work or live in the same way, so I avoid one size fits all approaches. My aim is straightforward; effective care that supports recovery without unnecessary aggression or discomfort.
I also understand what it feels like to walk into an appointment worried, frustrated or unsure. My own experience with injury is what led me into this profession in the first place, and it continues to shape how I work with people every day.
“My history of back injury lead me to become an Osteopath, so I know what it feels like to hobble into an appointment”
Align Healthcare Clinic is something I built alongside my brother, Nathan. We have always been close, and when the opportunity arose to create a clinic together, it felt like the right time to take that step. We work well because we each focus on our own areas of the business while sharing the same values and way of thinking. That balance allows us to stay both effective and grounded, as colleagues and as family.
Alongside clinical work, I’ve taken a real interest in the creative side of the clinic: videography, editing, website design and the overall look and feel of the space itself. It’s a way of communicating what we do and who we are. That said, my commitment to patient care has never changed, I’m very much here for the long term.
Outside of work, I enjoy a wide mix of interests. I’m into audio gear and hi-fi, technology, gaming, and more recently, developing my skills in videography. I also like to stay active in different ways; walking, hiking, swimming, dancing and generally moving when I can. I’ve tried most things at least once, and these days I try to practise what I often tell patients: do what you enjoy, but don’t overdo it.
Above all, I want people who come to see me to feel listened to, understood and supported. If someone leaves feeling a little more confident in their body and a little less alone in what they’re dealing with, then I’ve done my job properly.
