Aoife McKenna

Physiotherapist

Hi All,

My name is Aoife (pronounced eeffaa), a Physiotherapist here at Align Healthcare Clinic with 7 years experience in Musculoskeletal care.

In the course of my career, I have specialised in upper limb, lower limb and spinal pathologies, working with a plethora of colleagues and completing valuable trainings to maximise and expand my practice. I have a passion for providing high quality and patient specific care, making you feel involved and confident in your course of treatment. Not only do I provide care for your physical needs, but I am also here to support you emotionally throughout your Physiotherapy journey. I am here for you and to help you achieve your goals.

I grew up in a small farm in County Tyrone but moved to the ‘big smoke’ when I was twenty years old to pursue my physiotherapy degree.

I use a variety of hands-on techniques and exercise prescription, as well as ensuring you are empowered and educated on your body for long term management. Whether it is a new sports injury, a long-term pain or something that needs some hands-on maintenance, I am here to help.

A little about me, I have lived in Liverpool for 10 years now, but I am still holding onto my Irish accent! I grew up in a small farm in County Tyrone but moved to the ‘big smoke’ when I was twenty years old to pursue my physiotherapy degree. I, like most of my Irish peers, fell in love with the city and its people and I am proud to call Liverpool my home from home.

I have a passion for strength training, and I am a keen gym goer. I play championship level rugby but I am currently out rehabilitating a 4C hamstring rupture and surgical repair. This experience has given me a unique perspective on how challenging an injury can be both physically and mentally. I have gained a newfound respect for my patients and what they go through day to day in living with pain and recovering from injury.

Throughout my career I have helped countless people with their musculoskeletal issues, and I am proud of the difference my skills can make, I love my job and look forward to assisting you with your physiotherapy goals.
